What is Cerakote?

For many years their was only a few ways to protect your gun from the elements. Guns have always been made of metal and some times the steel was blued. This was a heating process to help protect it from pitting and corrosion. Since guns are used outside a lot, they are easily exposed to the weather. Things such as water could easily cause the metal to rust which could lead to the gun not functioning correctly.

On older guns parts of them, such as the handle or butt, were also made of wood. Wood also would break down over time and wear. As time when on people started using pearl grips and things to help protect the parts of the gun that were exposed to wear and the weather more often. Today there is a new product that can protect your gun.This new product to help your gun last as long as possible is Cerakote. It is a ceramic type material with a polymer mixed into it to help it attach to all kinds of material.

Benefits:

Normal wear occurs because you have oils on your hands that can eat into the metal parts over time. Also, the slide part of the gun is moving back and forth which causes friction. If your gun does not have a slide but is instead a hammer, the hammer hitting still causes wear. The bullet also coming out of the chamber causes wear over time to the inside of the barrel. Also, the small explosion on the inside each time to propel the bullet out causes wear.

Some of these wear causing things can be slowed down with proper care. If you clean your gun and oil it regularly, then it reduces the effects of the friction. Also, some of the smaller parts can be replaced easily and this will help your gun last longer, but some mishandling things or accidents can’t be prevented or protected against in other ways.

Carrying the gun can lead to it getting scratches and things just from it bumping into things. These cosmetic issues don’t really affect the function, but if you are spending a lot on a gun you probably want it to stay looking good for as long as possible as well. Also, a drop could cause cosmetic damage and functioning damage, but if you have a coating on the gun these damages can be reduced.

Cerakote puts a layer on the outside of the gun that is hard and protective. The ceramic in the Cerakote keeps the gun from getting scratched if it bumps into different things or gets dropped. The thin layer also protects the moving parts from wear. This keeps the gun in the proper specifications for longer so you don’t have to replace parts and it keeps functioning correctly. Lastly it protects the gun from the elements, such as water, so the metal does not rust or pit.

The other benefits are that Cerakota comes in over a hundred colors. This means you can get your gun to look however you want. You can even have different parts of the gun be different colors, so the possibilities are endless. Some might think that customizing the color is just for aesthetics, but doesn’t add any real benefits. While this is mostly true, it isn’t completely true. If you are wanting to hide your gun, then you can get it in a color that is more easily concealed. That is one reason why getting a custom color can add more benefits than just making you happy.

Stippling- It gains traction over the slippery OEM grip, but not too aggressive to irritate you while concealed carrying.

6. Please send us an e-mail by replying to your order confirmation, indicating your chosen FFL dealer’s name.

7. After we have received a copy of your gun dealer’s signed FFL and your order processing is completed, we will ship your gun to the FFL dealer.
8. Once your FFL dealer receives your firearm, they will perform your background check.
   After you pass your background check and fill out all necessary paperwork, you can pick up your gun!

Transfers are a pretty standard procedure.

1. Contact a local FFL dealer via third-party FFL dealer locator, or Google.
2. Your FFL dealer will ship us your firearm(s) once they have obtained our FFL via email. sinnermass@gmail.com . They will likely charge your for the shipping cost.
3. Once we receive your firearms, we will follow up with you and confirm the work desired.
4. After completing the work, we will send an invoice to you.  Upon completion, we will ship your firearm(s) back to the desired FFL dealer.  We offer free shipping on all orders over $199.  Your FFL dealer will likely charge you a “transfer fee” when you pick up your finished products.

Federal Regulations:

• You must be 21 years of age to purchase a handgun from a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer (FFL)
• You must be 18 years of age to purchase a long gun from a FFL dealer
• All handguns must be transferred from an FFL dealer to the customer in the state of the customer’s residence
• Long guns can be purchased and transferred to a resident of any state in any state provided that the transfer is legal in both the purchaser’s state and the state in which the transfer is taking place
  • State residency regulations vary from state to state. Please click the following link ( http://www.atf.gov/publications ) to see if the firearm you are interested in can be transferred to you in any of our 29 retail locations.
• Customers must complete the federal ATF F 4473 and pass the required Brady Act background check before a firearm can be transferred

State Regulations: All State paperwork (in addition to the ATF F 4473) must be completed prior to the transfer of a firearm to the purchaser. All state or locally required WAITING PERIODS begin when the purchaser patronizes the FFL dealers place of business and completes the required Federal and State paperwork. Waiting periods DO NOT begin when the firearm is purchased or shipped; they begin once all paperwork is complete.

• Alabama: Residents of Alabama can purchase long guns in adjoining states that share a border with Alabama (Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi and Florida). Residents of the states of Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi and Florida can purchase long guns in the state of Alabama. (Ala. Revised Code 13A-11-58)
• California: Residents of California can only be transferred a firearm in the state of California. (CA Pen. Code 12072.C & 12048(d)(7)(A))
• Colorado: Residents of Colorado can purchase long guns in the states of Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Wyoming. Residents of NE, KS, OK, NM, AZ, UT and WY can purchase long guns in the state of Colorado. (CO. Code 12-27-102 and 12-27-103)
• Connecticut: Residents of Connecticut can purchase long guns in any state. They must posses a valid Concealed Weapons Permit (CCW) or a current CT hunting license. If they do not have one of these qualifications they must observe the 2 week waiting period before the transfer of the firearm can be made. A resident of any state can purchase a long gun in the state of CT provided they posses a valid CT hunting license. If a CT hunting license is not in their possession they must observe the 2 week waiting period prior to being transferred the firearm. (CT Gen. Stat 23-37a(b))
• Florida: Residents of the state of Florida can purchase long guns in the states of Georgia and Alabama. Residents of the state of Georgia and Alabama can purchase long guns in the state of Florida. (Fla. Code 790.28)
• Hawaii: All firearms purchased by Hawaii residents from a Cabela’s retail location must be shipped to an FFL dealer in the state of Hawaii.
• Illinois: Residents of IL can purchase long guns in Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin or Kentucky provided they posses a valid IL FOID Firearms Owners Identification Card) and observe the 24 hour waiting period as is mandated by IL law. Residents of IA, MO, IN, WI and KY can purchase long guns in the state of IL provided they posses valid non-resident IL hunting license. (IL. Comp. Stat. 430.65/3a) Note: the 24 hour waiting period is a true 24 hour clock (Transaction started at 3pm on Monday – customer can pick up their firearm beginning at 3pm on Tuesday)
• Indiana: Residents of Indiana can purchase long guns in the state of Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan and Illinois. Residents of OH, MI, KY and IL can purchase long guns in the state of Indiana. (IN Code 37-47-5-6)
• Louisiana: Louisiana residents can purchase long guns in the states of Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi. Residents of the states of TX, AR and MS can purchase long guns in the state of Louisiana. (LA Rev. Stat. 40:1801 – 1804)
• Maryland: Residents of Maryland can purchase non-regulated (shotguns and non-assault style rifles) long guns in the states of Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware and West Virginia. Residents of PA, VA, DE and WV can purchase non-regulated long guns in Maryland. (MD Code 5-204:5-123;124) Note: for a list of regulated firearms in the state of Maryland please refer to ATF.gov
• : Massachusetts residents can purchase long guns in any state provided they posses a valid MA F.I.D. (Firearms Identification Card) or a Class A or Class B Concealed Weapons Permit. Non-residents can not purchase firearms in the state of Massachusetts. (Mass. Gen. L. Chapter 140.131E)
• New Jersey: Residents of the state of New Jersey can purchase long guns in any state provided they posses a valid NJ F.I.D. (Firearms Identification Card) Non-residents must posses a valid NJ F.I.D. card to purchase a long gun in the state of NJ. (NJ Code 2C:58-3)
• New York: Residents of New York may purchase long guns in the states of Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Residents of the states of VT, MA, CT, NJ and PA can purchase long guns in the state of New York. (NY Consolidated Law 265.40(1) and (2))
• Ohio: Residents of Ohio can purchase long guns in the states of Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Residents of the states of MI, IN, KY, WV and PA can purchase long guns in the state of Ohio. (OH Rev. Code 2923.22(A), (B) and (C))
• Oregon: Residents of Oregon can purchase long guns in the states of Washington, California, Idaho and Nevada. Residents of the states of Washington, Idaho and Nevada can purchase long guns in the state of Oregon. (OR Rev. Stat. 166.490)
• Rhode Island: Residents of Rhode Island can purchase long guns in any state provided they posses a signed application for purchase of firearm and observe a 7 day waiting period that begins at noon the day after the purchase application is signed. Residents of any state can purchase a long gun in the state of RI provided they have a signed application for purchase of a firearm and observe the 7 day waiting period that begins at noon the day after the purchase application is signed. (R.I. Gen. Laws 11-47-35.2)
• Texas: Residents of Texas may purchase long guns in the states of Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Mexico. Residents of the states of LA, OK, AR and NM may purchase long guns in the state of TX.

Ammo Restrictions

Federal law requires that you must be at least 18 years old to purchase shotgun ammunition and 21 years or older to purchase pistol and rifle ammunition.

• You do not need an FFL to purchase ammunition online.
• All ammunition will be shipped UPS ground. Ammo cannot be shipped air freight.
• We can ship ammunition to your door via UPS.
• For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on ammunition.
